Chapter 291: Biting Cold Murderous Intent
The surroundings of the majestic Black White Deity Mountain was like a piece of scored earth; the white fog temporarily dissipated.
Hovering above the piece of scorched earth were Lord You Lan and General Ku Meng. Everything was calm; they were facing off against Battleship D9, which was not too far off into the distance.
“Mn?” Lord You Lan’s expression changed slightly. He looked into the distance.
Four teams of Transcendents were coming one after another.
“Oh? This should be the team from the Dark Abyss, right?” The commander from the last team was a teenager garbed in gold. He casually commented, “What is going on? According to the rules of the Temporal Temple, sending a powerful Demigod allows for two others to accompany him as well! Why is the Dark Abyss team left with only two Demigods? Unless, one of them had died at the hands of the Xia Clan?”
“The Xia clan may be weak, but with their accumulated foundations, they aren’t a force to anger. His underling had probably died.” The team commander from the Temple of the Earth God, the golden armored young man named Wu Ma Hai, laughed savagely.
“I am Chen Jiu, may I know who this is?” The Bloodshed Tavern commander, Chen Jiu, was the most polite of them all.
“Wu Ma Hai!” the golden-armored young man responded.
The teenager garbed in gold robes’ smiling gaze landed on the Meishan Clan Master instead. “Wu Huang, I’ve heard that you have already broken away from the control of the Temporal Temple. Who would have imagined that you would be here participating in this affair as well. Haha, it really has been a long time since we last met. Especially since the previous time when we fought, that battle is really something I can’t forget!”
The Meishan Clan Master frowned. “Jian Huang, do you want to fight right now?”
“There’s no point. Within the Crimson Rock Mountain, our enemy is the dangers that lurk within . We may still have to work together.” The golden-robed teenager smiled.
Meishan Clan Master snorted and did not speak thereafter.
The two of them were once Reincarnators of the Temporal Temple and had fought before. Of course, the Meishan Clan Master had already regained his freedom.
“Foolish Nuo Nuo An.” Lord You Lan cursed inwardly, “After his death, he has even attracted these other people.”
However, he was not worried.
This was because they had quite a lot of detailed information related to Crimson Rock Mountain. Adventuring through the mountain did not require slaughter. They only needed to break through the many dangers lurking within before being able to obtain what they wanted. They could even cooperate with one another! This was also the reason why the Bloodshed Tavern had agreed to bring Xue Ying with them; they were not afraid of them snatching the treasures.
Lord You Lan cast his vision towards the distant Battleship D9 and coldly snorted. “Enough! Xia Clan, you all want to threaten me with just Dong Bo Xue Ying? Hmph, I’d suggest that you all better obediently hand over the Deity grade scrolls!”
He did not have any patience left.
“Hand over the Deity grade scrolls?” A laughter filled with suppressed anger and killing intent reverberated, and a white-robed teenager appeared from the Mirage. It was none other than Xue Ying.
“Lord You Lan!” Xue Ying’s eyes were filled with a raging inferno. A crystal ball appeared on his right hand and with a pa, it was instantly smashed. Countless trapped souls from within immediately roared with anguish as they flew outwards before disappearing into nothingness due to the laws of the world.
“Do you see this? Do you see these departed spirits demand vengeance for their grievances?” Xue Ying took yet another crystal ball filled with countless spirits, smashing it in order to allow these souls to return to the world. “They were all killed by you! Furthermore, they are filled with resentment after you had killed them and countless more of my clansmen! They did not have any malice against you and lived their lives peacefully, yet you slaughtered them and tortured their souls to the extent where they are filled with grievances. You still dare to demand for more Deity grade scrolls?”Deity grade scrolls?”
Xue Ying’s voice was cold, and this cold was seemingly suppressing the volcano from erupting.
Crystal ball after crystal ball smashed apart in his hands.
Countless spirits returned to the world.
This single scene had made all of the Xia Clan Transcendents in Battleship D9 to feel heartache.
“Oh? I almost forgot to say this, but I’ve already eaten a hundred million of your clansmen’ souls.” Lord You Lan licked his teeth before revealing its pure whiteness. “Truly tasty. No wonder the Demonic Gods from our Dark Abyss all love the souls of humans from the material worlds. It’s an absolute delicacy!”
Xue Ying’s pupil contracted. The anger in him was making his chest explode.
At this moment—
An enormous skull illusion appeared beside Lord You Lan and General Ku Meng. This skull had a helmet on it, though the two yellowish eyes underneath were just like an endless dead ocean. Even though it was merely a skull illusion and was not a World Projection, it was enough to make Xue Ying and the commanders of the four other teams to feel uncomfortable.
“Great Demonic God.” Lord You Lan and General Ku Meng slightly bent their back.
Xue Ying immediately understood that this skull illusion with a helmet on it was that majestic existence who arranged to send Lord You Lan and the others down into their world.
And it did not seem as if this Great Demonic God was the same figure as the one controlling the Demonic Faction!
The Great Demonic God…
To phrase it was it would be phrased in the Deity World, he was actually at the World Deity realm! It represented power. Naturally, there were huge differences between World Deities too. With the requirements the Temporal Temple demanded for sending Demigods over, the price for sending Demigods at the level of Lord You Lan was extremely terrifying! At the least, the ancestor Deities from the Xia Clan could not afford it. Those who would be willing to pay the price for a gamble were those World Deities that were extraordinary—or the Great Demonic Gods!
The helmeted skull stared at Xue Ying. “Human, you actually dared to kill my underling!”
“They massacred countless Xia Clan clansmen, so why should I not kill him?” Xue Ying coldly retorted.
“Oh? Interesting. You truly have a courageous side with you and are filled with potential. No wonder even Da Er Meng and the others wish to eradicate you as well. Who would have thought that after a hundred years, your combat power has improved so much. I truly want to know how Da Er Meng and that Lord Sorcerer Deity will react after knowing that your combat power has increased greatly. Truly interesting.” The helmeted skull illusionlaughed out loud. He did not even want to bicker with Xue Ying, as there was no point.
If they were in the Dark Abyss, how would these little bugs dare to be so unbridled with him!
But they were currently in a mortal world!
“You Lan.” The helmeted skull illusionlooked towards Lord You Lan. “Right now, you haven’t even entered the Crimson Rock Mountain, yet Nuo Nuo An is dead already!”
“Hmph, Great Demonic God, you should be rest assured. If the mission fails, then I’ll definitely die. Thus, I’ll be doing my utmost! Right now, I am thinking of ways to increase my chances of victory!” Lord You Lan frowned.
“If you understand that failure is not an option, then it’s fine.” The helmeted skull illusion nodded.
They had all signed an Abyss Oath. The Abyss Oath had a terrifying binding towards the lives of these lifeforms from the Dark Abyss, and even the Temporal Temple could not save them at all. Those who went against the oath, unless the wronged party was unwilling to overlook said oath-breaking, would die!
The helmeted skull illusion disappeared.
The four teams who were watching the battle felt great shock. From the previous conversation, they could deduce that the member ‘Nuo Nuo An’ from the Dark Abyss had died in the hands of Xue Ying!
“He killed Nuo Nuo An?” The red-haired male, Bo Bo, from the Temple of the Earth God bewilderedly asked, “How is that possible? Is he that strong? Or could it be that Nuo Nuo An is weak?”
Young Master Wu Ma Hai had a cold expression. “Nuo Nuo An’s combat power isn’t weak at all! I’m sure you could feel the remnants from the explosion previously—it has reached the level of Deity realm. So how could Nuo Nuo An be weak? It should be that the combat power of Dong Bo Xue Ying is more formidable than we expected!”
In the hearts of the members of this team, they felt displeased.
Previously, they had looked down upon Xue Ying, believing that he had nothing they would desire and that he would undoubtedly die upon entering Crimson Rock Mountain. But now that he could kill Nuo Nuo An…it represented that even if Xue Ying was to move by himself, he still had hope despite the dangers.
“Manor Master, you invited Dong Bo Xue Ying to join our team because Manor Master had discovered his combat power to be this strong?” the mountain-goateed old man asked in astonishment. He did not kept his voice soft since there was no need. When everyone went to the Crimson Rock Mountain, they would naturally find out.
“Dong Bo Xue Ying has joined the team of Bloodshed Tavern?”
Meishan Clan Master’s team and Jian Huang’s team were still relatively calm.
The team from the Temple of the Earth God, though, was uncomfortable, for they had previously ascertained that no other team would accept Xue Ying.
And on the other side…
After being threatened by the helmeted skull illusion, Lord You Lan’s eyes were filled with killing intent. He looked towards the distant Xue Ying and Battleship D9 before coldly saying, “I do not have any patience left!”
“If you think you don’t, then I should have even less of my patience left!” Xue Ying’s voice was low and filled with countless killing intent. “As I said before, Nuo Nuo An was just the beginning! The next person I will kill right now is the second!”
Lord You Lan and General Ku Meng’s expressions slightly changed.
Under their vision, the distant Xue Ying, who was enveloped in a swelling killing intent, disappeared into nothingness.
