Nejimaki Serei Senki or Aldermain on the Sky is a light novel that carries tones of fantasy and adeventure. The story features a young man who has no motivation in life and is generally aloof and does not care.

His name is Ikta Solork and hewants nothing in his life but a place to sleep and a woman to spend his time with. However, unfortunelty this is never the case because his peacful life is destroyed when war breaks out between twoneighbouring countries called the Karjvarna Empire and the republic of Kioka. In a time like this, in order to defend his country the Empire, he must join the army.

So he enrolls into the miliatry with his childhood friend, Yatorishino Igsem and there they meet thsi infantryman named Mathew, a spiner named Torway and a medic named Haroma on a boat that is headed towads a miltary exam site.

However, things don’t go as planned and a storm hits the ship and sinks all five of them, swimming and barely staying alive they wake up in the morning on a shore. Only to find out that they’ve landed on an enemy terriorty near a military outpost. In their time there, they find out that the princess of their kingdom who is the heir to teh thorne of the empire, Princess Chamille Kitora has been taken hostage by the opposing country.

They work hard togther and are able to rescue and return her in Nejimaki Seirei Senki Novel. As a reward they are celebrated and are given teh highest honour any solider can recieve in the Empire called the title of Imperial Knight. As the story goes on Ikta must relcutantly leave his life of relative peace and tranquality behind, and become the hero he never wanted to be.
